RIO DE JANEIRO, Dec. 4 (Xinhua) -- Member of the 2011 Brazilian Championship title-winning team Corinthians, Adriano guaranteed that he will celebrate by drinking an exorbitant amount of beer on Sunday.

Adriano did not play in Corinthians' scoreless draw against Palmeiras in the 38th and final round of the national tournament.

During his limited participation in the tournament, Adriano scored only one goal. However, his single goal against Atletico-MG in the 36th round helped his team keep atop the leader board.

Infamously known for his overindulgence in alcohol, Adriano had his driver's license revoked in 2010 for driving under the influence.

Corinthians' administration was well aware of the player's apparent problems with drinking. However, former club president Andres Sanchez openly stated that if Adriano is able to produce, he has no problems with him drinking.

Adriano admitted on Sunday that he is still far from his ideal physical shape but hopeed to have a strong pre-season and return in 2012 much faster and slimmer, promising to return to "how he used to be."

Corinthians will share the prize of nearly 2 million U.S. dollars for winning this year's Brazilian Championship.
