Hu Jintao awards outstanding military units, individuals

BEIJING, Dec. 19 (Xinhua) -- Chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC) Hu Jintao signed two orders of commendation to honor one military unit and two individuals for their outstanding service.

A border-garrison company of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) in southwest Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region was awarded the honorary title of "Model Company for Defending and Protecting Borders."

Xu Jianping, an aircraft maintenance expert for the PLA's Air Force, and He Min, a surgeon with the PLA's Fourth Military Medical University, were awarded honorary titles for their dedication to their posts.

In the other order of commendation, the PLA's No. 63612 troop, the Air Force's August 1st Aerobatics Team, a regiment of the Air Force's flying school and an institute for Marxism Study with the PLA's National Defense University were awarded the first-class merit of citation.

Another two units were awarded a second-class merit of citation and a third-class merit of citation.

Moreover, six individuals were awarded the first-class merit of citation, five military officers and professors received the second-class merit of citation, and one military doctor was awarded the third-class merit of citation.
