TORONTO, Dec. 28 (Xinhua) -- Prior to their regular season home opener against the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday, the Toronto Raptors officially became the most international team to start the season.

The Raptors squad feature seven players from seven different countries: Solomon Alabi (Nigeria), Leandro Barbosa (Brazil), Andrea Bargnani (Italy), Jose Calderon (Spain), Gary Forbes (Panama), Linas Kleiza (Lithuania), and Jamaal Magloire (Canada).

During Wednesday's 85-90 loss to the Pacers, five of the seven foreign-born players suited up for the game with Alabi and Kleiza not dressed. Of the five players, Andrea Bargnani played a team-high 31 minutes with 21 points, five assists and four rebounds.

Behind the Raptors are the Cleveland Cavaliers with six players and the Milwaukee Bucks, Minnesota Timberwolves and San Antonio Spurs, whom all have five.

Presently, 28 of 30 teams employ at least one foreign-born player. Only Indiana Pacers and Los Angeles Clippers have no foreign-born players.
