KABUL, Jan. 20 (Xinhua) -- The NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) has confirmed that four service members were killed Friday in eastern Afghanistan by an Afghan soldier, a statement released by the alliance here said.

"Four International Security Assistance Force Service members were killed today in eastern Afghanistan by a member of Afghan National Army," the statement added.

The suspected shooter has been apprehended, it further said.

"It is ISAF policy to defer casualty identification procedures to the relevant national authorities," the brief statement added.

However, it did not mention the exact place of the incident.

Earlier, a private television channel Tolo reported that an Afghan soldier opened fire and killed four foreign soldiers in Kapisa province Friday morning.

Troops from France and the United States have been stationed in Kapisa province 65 km northeast of the Afghan capital Kabul.

Today's suffering brings the number of the military alliance's fatalities to 10 over the past two days.

In the previous incident, a chopper of the NATO-led ISAF crashed in southern Helmand province on Thursday leaving six people aboard dead.
