RIO DE JANEIRO, March 9 (Xinhua) -- The New Brazilian Basketball league (NBB) started its fifth All-Star weekend on Friday.

The first day's gala show included dunk contest, three-point contest and the skills competition.

In the Sao Paulo city of Franca, Bauru's forward Gui wooed the crowd with a series of unique dunks, winning the competition. From slamming the ball wearing only his underwear to dressing up like Batman and dunking the ball, Gui beat out last year's champion Jordan Burger.

In only the second year of the skills competition, Franca's Fernando Penna successfully defended his title from last year, beating out Sao Jose's Fluvio, Tijuca's Gege, Vila Velha's Matheus, Liga Sorocabana's Diego Gomes and Bauru's Larry Taylor. Penna completed the obstacle course with the best time of 26.8 seconds.

Franca's veteran guard Helinho won this year's three-point contest, beating out Paulinho Boracini in the final round, scoring 21 points compared to Boracini's 11.

The NBB All-Star weekend continues on March 10 and March 11.
