BANGKOK, March 14 (Xinhua) -- The Thai government is willing to cooperate with China in its water-management projects following last year's devastating flood, Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra said on Wednesday.

Yingluck made the remark during a meeting with a Chinese delegation at the Thai Government House. Speaking highly of the long-standing Thailand-China friendship, Yingluck welcomed Chinese firms to invest in the country's industrial, agricultural and infrastructure sectors.

"Thailand highly values its strategic cooperative ties with China. The government provides policy support for Chinese investment in our country," she said, adding that Thailand would serve as a bridge connecting China and ASEAN.

"It is the manifestation of the widely-shared belief: China and Thailand as one family."

The 10-member Chinese delegation, dispatched by China Association for International Friendly Contacts (CAIFC), arrived in Bangkok on Monday to start a 6-day visit to promote friendly ties between the two countries.

During their meeting, the female prime minister also expressed her gratitude to the Chinese government and civil groups for providing assistance for the country's flood victims, saying her government was going to earmark a huge sum of money from this year 's budget for water-management projects.

"We would like to work with China in such projects and learn its experience," she said.

Apart from four rounds of financial and material assistance, the Chinese government also sent a team of flood control and water management experts from its Ministry of Water Resources to Thailand last October to help flood-relief work.
