03-23-2012 13:23 BJT

RIO DE JANEIRO, March 22 (Xinhua) -- With its 2-0 win over Nacional on Thursday, Coritba advanced into the second phase of the 2012 Brazilian Cup.

Both of Coritiba's goals came from Anderson Aquino. His first goal came in the 18th minute and he scored again in the 90th minute. The team qualified into the next round with an aggregate score of 2-0.

The team's next opponent in the Brazilian Cup will be ASA-AL.

The second phase of the competition will take place between April 4 and April 19. As in the first round, should the visiting team win the first leg match by two goals or more, it will eliminate its opponent and automatically advance into the third phase.

The winner of the 2012 Brazilian Cup automatically qualifies to play in the 2013 Libertadores Cup. The tournament is the shortest way for a Brazilian team to enter the continental competition.
