5 killed, 3 injured as house roof collapses in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, April 5 (Xinhua) -- Five people were killed and three others injured when a house roof collapsed in Pakistan's eastern Punjab province on Thursday, reported local Urdu TV channel Dunya.

The accident took place early on Thursday morning when a house in a village near Arifwala, a small town lying some 214 kilometers southwest of Lahore, capital of Punjab province in east Pakistan, suddenly collapsed due to heavy rains.

Five people inside the house, who were asleep when the roof collapsed, were killed and three others were injured, said the report, adding that the killed include a man and his four sons.
