The selected films include Oscar winners such as "The Artist" "A Separation" "The Descendants" and Golden Palm winners "The Tree of Life" and "Boy with A Bike." The organizers have invited the film production teams to come to China to talk to moviegoers.

"Seediq Bale," a 2011 historical Taiwanese epic directed by Wei Te-Sheng also will be screened at the festival. The length of the mainland version of the film will be cut to 2.5 hours, nearly two hours shorter than the Taiwan and Hong Kong versions.

The complete list announced by the organizer covers many different movie genres to provide diversity for Chinese audiences. The Italian feature film "We Have A Pope," Dutch feature film "Black Butterflies," Norwegian crime thriller "Headhunters" and Japanese romance "Eternal First Love" also will be screened.

The Beijing International Film Festival will be held from April 21 to 28. Ticket prices for the movies will be lower than those of regular commercial features.
