Indonesian business invited to join glass, solar module expo in Germany

JAKARTA, April 26 (Xinhua) -- Indonesian businesses have been invited to participate in a bi-annual expo of glass and solar module in Dusseldorf, Germany scheduled on Oct 23-26, an executive said here Thursday.

The expo is the world's biggest business-to-business exhibition of glass industry in terms of technology, new development and the making process.

It is also an expo that specially exhibits solar energy processing equipment.

Birgit Horn, director of glasstec/solarpeq 2012, told a seminar entitled 'Meet the World of Glass and Solar'that in 2010, 67 percent of visitors were outside Germany.

Data shows that the 2010 Glasstec expo were joined by 1,724 companies from 52 countries and attended by 44,000 visitors. "Everything relates to glass industry will be presented in Glasstec such as glass machinery manufacturers, glass processors, hollow glass machinery, art glass and others. Meanwhile, Solarpeq will present various solar energy processing equipments," said Horn.

Asep Sopandi, a representative from the Indonesian Solar Module Manufacture Association (APAMSI), said that there are six companies joining the association.

He said that currently, the industry is only supported by the Indonesian government's projects while private sector is still a small market share of it. "However, there is an encouraging sign in terms of new and renewable energy usage in this country. Recently, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has issued a decree on mixed energy used in buildings,"said Sopandi.
