UN chief to hold press conference on Rio meeting

UNITED NATIONS, June 4 (Xinhua) -- UN Secretary-General Ban Ki- moon will hold a press conference about the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (Rio+20) Wednesday, the deputy UN spokesman, Eduardo del Buey, announced here Monday.

"Because the secretary-general is arriving in New York from Saudi Arabia later than previously expected, his press conference on Rio+20 will be rescheduled for Wednesday at noon, New York time, " said del Buey at a daily news briefing.

Rio +20 will take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from June 20- 22. The conference will evaluate progress made towards sustainable development and poverty eradication while charting a course for the future of such efforts.
