BERLIN, June 5 (Xinhua) -- A 29-year-old Canadian porn actor suspected of killing and dismembering a Chinese student in Montreal was taken to prison in Berlin on Tuesday after he said he would not appeal against his extradition back to Canada.

Luka Rocco Magnotta was apprehended in an internet cafe in Berlin's Neukolln district, after a local resident recognized him and alerted police.

He was brought to a German court on Tuesday for a hearing after Canada filed a formal request on his extradition for trial, Berlin police spokesman Thomas Neuendorf said.

According to his statements to prosecutors, Magnotta would not fight his extradition, police said.

Magnotta had taken a bus from Paris to Berlin on Saturday. Berlin police would not specify what Magnotta, known as "mutilator killer" by French press and as the "Canadian Psycho" in Canada, did in Berlin between his arrival and the time of his arrest, citing the ongoing investigation.

Magnotta is wanted by Canadian authorities on suspicion of killing Lin Jun, a 33-year-old Chinese man, and mailing his body parts to two of Canada's top political parties before fleeing to Europe. He had filmed the attack and put the video on the Internet.
