CHENGDU, June 30 (Xinhua) -- Eight people, including three children, were killed Saturday after their taxi crashed into a tanker truck in southwest China's Sichuan province, local authorities said.
The accident happened at 2:15 p.m., when a five-seat taxi carrying eight people collided head-on with a tanker truck on a highway in the city of Guangan, the provincial work safety administration said.
All eight of the taxi's occupants, including the driver and three toddlers, were killed at the scene, the statement said.
An investigation into the cause of the accident is under way.
