China forces into the men's table tennis team final at London Olympics

LONDON, Aug. 6 (Xinhua) -- China's men's table tennis team beat Germany 3-1 in a close game on Monday to march into the final of the London Olympic Games.

China's Ma Long defeated Germany's Dimitrij Ovtcharov, London Olympic bronze medalist, 3-1 in the first singles match.

Germany's Timo Boll, who failed to enter the men's singles quarter-finals, beat China's Zhang Jike, the new Olympic single gold medalist, in the second match (3-1).

Chinese pair Wang Hao/Zhang won the middle match by beating German pair Bastian Steger/Boll 3-1.

Ma secured China's victory in the fourth match against Steger 3-0.

China will face the winner between Hong Kong, China and South Korea in the final on Wednesday.
