At the London Games, China has gained 38 gold medals. While China continues to show dominance in sports that traditionally strong in, such as table tennis, gymnastics, and diving, it’s also clinched ten golds in sports that it hasn’t excelled in, in the past.

China is now excelling in a wider range of events, including swimming, track and field, and cycling.

Sun Yang wins 2 Olympic gold in London.

China’s Sun Yang has won gold, followed by South Korea’s Park Tae-hwan in second place. Peter Vanderkaay from the United States won bronze. Park was reinstated in the final after winning an appeal against a disqualification. Full story >>

Chinese Sun Yang clocked a new world record time of 14:31.02 to win the Olympic men's 1,500m freestyle gold medal on Saturday. The previous world record of 14:34.14 was set by Sun himself in 2011. Full story >>

Ye Shiwen wins 2 Olympic gold in London.

Ye Shiwen has won the women’s 400 meter individual medley with a world record time of 4:28.43. It was a remarkable 100 meter freestyle from Ye after the breaststroke turnover that did it. Full story >>
