Dollar trades at 79-yen level in Tokyo

TOKYO, Aug. 16 (Xinhua)-- The U.S. dollar moved around the 79- yen level Thursday in Tokyo market.

At 9 a.m., the dollar fetched 79.01-06 yen compared with 78.94- 79.04 yen in New York and 78.93-95 yen in Tokyo at 5 p.m. Wednesday.

The euro was quoted at 1.2288-2290 U.S. dollar and 97.08-11 yen against 1.2285-2295 dollar and 96.98-97.08 yen in New York and 1. 2321-2323 dollar and 97.25-29 yen in Tokyo late Wednesday afternoon.
