BISHKEK, Aug. 21 (Xinhua) -- A Kyrgyzstan border guard accused of shooting dead five people at a border checkpoint was killed Tuesday while resisting arrest, authorities said.
Balban Kulbarak Uulu, 19, was suspected of killing four of his colleagues and a border guard's wife before he fled the scene in a car with a weapon, according to the press service of the Border Force.
He was later discovered in a gorge in the Aytash Issyk-Kul region, and authorities then launched a special operation to search and arrest him, said the Border Force.
The suspect put up armed resistance and was killed in the operation, it added.
