TEHRAN, Aug. 24 (Xinhua) -- Tehran's interim Friday Prayers Leader Hojjatoleslam Kazem Seddiqi said that the upcoming Non- Aligned Movement (NAM) summit in Tehran will prove that Iranis not isolated, Press TV reported on Friday.

Seddiqi said the arrogant front has resorted to every ploy and conspiracy to imply that Iran is isolated.

Also, a member of Iran's Majlis (parliament) said Friday that the forthcoming NAM summit in Tehran demonstrates the failure of the West to isolate the Islamic republic, said Press TV.

"Iran's hosting of the NAM summit has promoted the Islamic republic's standing in the global stage and this is why the West, particularly the United States, and the Zionist regime (of Israel) are deeply concerned," Spokesman for the Majlis Economic Commission Mohammad Alipour was quoted as saying.

Attempts to establish peace and security in the region, fighting against the hegemonic powers and the reinforcement of the Islamic Awakening will be among the achievements of the upcoming summit and none of these will be agreeable to the West, said Alipour.

The Iranian lawmaker said that the summit would also display Iran's successful diplomacy as many countries would attend the event at a high level despite the West's fierce opposition.

He added that the summit would play a constructive role in alleviating regional crises and tensions.

The NAM summit will be held on Aug. 30 - 31 in Tehran.
