One NATO soldier dies in Afghanistan

KABUL, Sept. 2 (Xinhua) -- A soldier with the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) died in eastern Afghanistan on Sunday, the ISAF forces confirmed in a statement.

"An International Security Assistance Force service member died as a result of a non-battle related injury in eastern Afghanistan today," the ISAF said in the statement.

The brief statement did not disclose the nationality of the victim under the ISAF policy.

A total of 50 countries are contributing 130,000-strong forces in Afghanistan with over 90,000 of them American mainly stationed in the east and south, followed by 9,500 from UK mainly based in southern Afghanistan.

Over 320 NATO soldiers, most of them Americans, have been killed in Afghanistan since beginning this year.
