CAIRO, Nov. 4 (Xinhua) -- Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has arrived in Cairo Sunday evening for his two-day visit to Egypt on the Syrian crisis.

Lavrov will attend meeting Sunday night with Arab League (AL) Secretary-General Nabil al-Arabi and the UN-AL joint special representative to Syria, Lakhdar Brahimi, in a bid to crystallize a joint vision or new plan to solve the Syrian crisis, state media reported on Sunday.

Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi is planned to meet the Russian foreign minister for talks as well on means of boosting bilateral relations, official MENA news agency quoted diplomatic sources as saying.

Earlier in the day, Arabi met with Brahimi, but no details were revealed about the meeting, while MENA quoted source from the AL as saying that the talk aims at coordinating Arab stances towards the Syrian crisis.

Lavrov's visit to Egypt aims at getting acquainted with stands of Egypt and the pan-Arab body on ideas put forth to explore a solution to the deteriorated Syrian crisis, MENA reported.

The shaky truce for Eid al-Adha proposed by Brahimi was torn apart by deadly airstrikes and car bomb attacks late October, with the Syrian government and the opposition pointing fingers at each other.
