MOSCOW, Nov. 11 (Xinhua) -- The Cup of Russia Figure Skating wrapped up its long program Free Skating and Free Dance competitions on Saturday, with veteran skaters storming to the final victory.

In the Ladies Free Skating, Finnish "Princess of Figure Skating" Kiira Korpi surpassed U.S. skater Gracie Gold to claim the gold medal. American Agnes Zawadzki snatched the bronze medal.

Performing to "Once Upon a Time in America", Korpi landed a triple toe-triple toe combination and three more triple jumps but missed a triple loop. The European silver medalist scored a new season's best of 115.64 points and totaled 177.19 points to win the second Grand Prix event of her career.

Korpi now tops the Grand Prix standings with 26 points, according to the ISU ranking.

In the Pairs Free Skating, Russian pair Tatiana Volosozhar/Maxim Trankov kept the good momentum the day before and secured the gold medal. Their teammates Vera Bazarova/Yuri Larionov took silver medal while U.S. pair Caydee Denney/John Coughlin won the bronze.

Volosozhar/Trankov's long program to "Violin Muse" was technically demanding, with a triple twist and difficult level-four lifts. Trankov crashed on the triple toe and Volosozhar went down on the throw triple loop.

The pair said they didn't expect the fall on the throw but generally felt good to finish the performance. The European Champions got 132.79 points and accumulated 207.53 points in total.

Volosozhar/Trankov have qualified with two victories for the Grand Prix Final, said the ISU on its website.

In the Men's Free Skating, reigning world champion Patrick Chan of Canada claimed the gold medal. Japan's Takahiko Kozuka took silver and Michal Brezina of the Czech Republic clinched the bronze.

Chan opened his routine to "La Boheme" with a quad-triple toeloop combination followed by a quad toeloop and a triple Lutz. He smoothly presented two more triples and three level-four spins, but doubled a loop and the Axel.

The two-time World Champion scored a season best of 176.91 points and gained 262.35 points in total. Chan and Kozuka advance to the Grand Prix Final.

In the Ice Dance competition, Canadian pair Tessa Virtue/Scott Moir won the gold medal at the conclusion of the Cup of Russia.

Home-audience-favored Elena Ilinykh/Nikita Katsalapov of Russia danced to the silver and their teammates Victoria Sinitsina/Ruslan Zhiganshin took the bronze.

Virtue/Moir's passionate "Carmen" Free Dance was featured with innovative lifts and smooth step sequences. The two-time World Champions scored 103.34 points and totaled 173.99 points.

The Cup of Russia, or the Rostelecom Cup, is the fourth leg of the 2012-13 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating. It was held in the stadium of Megasport in Moscow from Friday to Sunday.

The ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating will continue next week with the fifth event Trophee Eric Bompard in Paris, France.
