CBA roundup: T-mac shines whole game but dims last possession

BEIJING, Nov. 25 (Xinhua) -- Tracy Mcgrady scored 34 points but being stole the last possession with 20 seconds left as Gaines buried the game-winning three-pointer for Fujian SBS to edge Qingdao Doublestar 95-92 in the first round of Chinese Basketball Association league (CBA) on Sunday.

Tracy became the only league player who received warmly cheer even in a road game. T-mac sparked twice the whole game as he scored eight points in a row in the third period to cut the 16 points deficit to four.

T-mac grabbed nine points in the early fourth quarter as Qingdao stormed a 14-1 strong run to reclaim the lead on 82-81. While in the last possession as two team made it 92-to-all with 20 seconds remaining, Tracy was stole by Fujian's rookie Zhou Qixin and Gaines, who had 18 points and 7 rebounds made the 3-pointer buzzer beater to seal the victory.

Former Lakers player Mbenga had a double-digit 15 points and 10 rebounds for Qingdao. Fujian forward Mbenga took a team-high 26 points and 12 rebounds.

Yi Jianlian returned from NBA smashed a game-high 26 points and 11 rebounds but failed to take Guangdong a opening win by losing to arch-rival Xinjiang Guanghui 92-103. Former Rockets player Weaver had 22 points to lead Xinjiang. Singleton was not in a good form by grabbing 9 points.

In Sunday's other games, Liaoning Hengye beat Jilin Northeast Tiger 103-84, Shanxi Zhongyu beat Dongguan Marco Polo 112-111, Bayi Fubang beat Tianjin Ronggang 97-86, Shandong Gold beat Foshan Long Lions 97-85, Zhejiang Guangsha beat Zhejiang Chouzhou 95-81.
