NEW YORK, Feb. 1 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake measuring 6.7 on the Richter scale jolted Santa Cruz Islands on Friday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 34.20 km, was initially determined to be at 10.9968 degrees south latitude and 165.4029 degrees east longitude.
A 6.8-magnitude earthquake jolted the Sea of Okhotsk at 10:56 p.m. Friday (Beijing Time), according to the China Earthquake Networks Center.
Pakistan on Friday opposed U.S. drone strikes hours after President Barack Obama defended the use of controversial drone mission as self-defense against the militants.
