CANBERRA, May 29(China Tibet Online)--The "Beauty of Tibet" Painting and Photography Exhibition 2013, China's first Tibet-themed art exhibition of its kind kicked off in Canberra, capital of Australia, on May 29.
The exhibition is jointly sponsored by All China Federation of Returned Overseas, China Tibet Online (Tibet.cn), and Shanghai Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese.

Lin Jun, head of the "Beauty of Tibet" art exhibition delegation and chairman of All China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, and Chen Yuming, China's ambassador to Australia, together with 200 Chinese diplomats and Australian officials in political, cultural, business and academic circles attended the reception organized by China's Embassy in Australia.
Altogether 140 paintings and 140 photographs by renowned contemporary Chinese artists and photographers were put on display. These works will showcase the natural beauty and harmony of Tibet as well as its social and economic development, cultural preservation, religious freedom, environmental protection, people's life and so on.
According to the organizer, the event will last for two weeks with exhibitions, discussions and screening of short films to be held in Sydney and Melbourne.
Initiated in Beijing in 2011, this is the second overseas tour exhibition following the first one held in Berlin and Hamburg of Germany in July 2012.
