China on track to launch unified property registration system

04-03-2014 01:01 BJT

China has taken a concrete step towards finalizing a long-anticipated unified property registration system. The Ministry of Land and Resources says it has set up a work group, headed by Vice Minister Hu Cun-zhi, to tackle the issue.

The ministry says the mechanism will help ensure the security of property transactions, protect property owners’ assets, and improve the efficiency of governance. The ministry said earlier that registration rules will be drafted and submitted to the State Council by June and are expected to take effect later this year.
