A dazzling array of artistic performances is coming to Beijing. The 14th edition of the "Meet in Beijing" arts festival will arrive in the capital at the end of April. It’s the largest and most reputable spring arts festival in China.

The month long festival will invite performers from 33 countries, including 190 pop bands and 22 performance troupes. The event features a wide variety of shows including musicals, dramas, open-air concerts and dance performances.

"For this year we are continuing our efforts to bring diverse culture from all over the world to Chinese audiences. We are also emphasizing Latino culture this year, and twenty Latino countries are cooperating with us. The festival will have a three-day carnival of Latino music at Chaoyang Park, and it’s totally free so I encourage music lovers to drop by." said Zhang Yu, Chairman, China Arts and Entertainment Group.

The event will also present European classics such as the ballet "Don Quixote" and "Celebration of Love".

"Another highlight of the event is a concert celebrating of the 50th anniversary of the diplomatic ties between China and France. We’ve invited top musicians from France to work with us to deliver a great collection of Chinese and French songs." said Zhang Yu, Chairman, China Arts and Entertainment Group.

Traditional Chinese opera shows are also to be featured at this year’s "Meet in Beijing". The organizers have also lowered ticket prices to encourage more people to take part. The festival will run from April 28th to May 25th, so be sure not to miss it.
