"The answer is no he’s not going to be going back to competitive swimming. He will be commentating on the Games from Glasgow. And he’s going to be doing some television work in July and August. Hopefully that will be the first thing he will be doing, so you know, there will be a lot of rehab anyway." James Erskine, Agent to Ian Thorpe said, "Once the infection has gone in the shoulder. I mean this is serious rehab for the shoulder. So he’s going to have to go through all of that as well. But no, he’s not going to be in the Commonwealth Games and he’s not thinking about returning for the next Olympics."
