To the ongoing Beijing International Film Festival, where director Paul W.S. Anderson has attended a summit to discuss how 3D technology will shape the film industry of the future. The director, playwright and producer of the five-episode "Resident Evil" franchise says that Chinese actress Li Bingbing will appear in the coming sequel.

The 3D film summit at the China Millennium Monument has invited film practitioners from different countries to share their understanding and experiences with new technology.

"The number of screens in China has reached over 20,000 this year. A decade ago, it was only a couple of thousand. And the total box office revenue was 3.6 billion US dollars last year, only second to America," Yang Buting, Chairman of China Film Promotion Internaitonal, said.

China's booming market is attracting movie makers from all over the world, including Paul W.S. Anderson, the director of the "Resident Evil" franchise.

"I think China has an amazing opportunity that 3D is still alive and well here, and people still pay to the cinema and go see it. I think you should really cherish that," Anderson said.

The summit has also invited William White, founder of 3D International Media, and Eric Deren, a senior stereographer. While the talk is highly professional, some audience members are more interested in whether there will be another "Resident Evil".

"I have to go home tomorrow for 'Rising Resident Evil'. That's what I'm going to do. As you know, Bingbing is in the last movie and she will be there again... After 'Resident Evil' I want to come to China and shoot film again," Anderson said.

Anderson says he believes 3D technology has now become the fabric, rather than just a special sauce, for a film. And, his next "Resident Evil" will "definitely be 3D".
