In a western suburb of Beijing, tourists flock to the annual Miaofeng Mountain temple fair.

Miaofeng Mountain is connected to three belief systems: Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism. During the fair, Pilgrims form teams to perform in an assortment of recitals. This tradition can be traced back to the Ming Dynasty some 600 years ago, and has been listed as a national intangible cultural heritage since 2008.

Heading south to Hefei, the capital of Anhui Province. Hundreds of kite lovers have gathered at the city's first Kite Culture Festival. And a multitude of kites flying up in the air form a unique sight at the city's skyline.

"I came all the way from Taipei. It's a good place to showcase your kite and everyone is sharing their craft. We learn a lot from each other," said a paticipant.

While in Bijie of southwest China's Guizhou Province, people are immersed in a sea of colorful flowers. This tourist spot has long been famous for its azaleas.

"From now till May 10th is the best time to appreciate the flowers, which are all in full bloom. Plus visitors can tour the whole scenic area for half price," said Luo Guanyu, tour guide.

There will also be a gala featuring folk singing and dancing at the weekend. So visitors can experience local culture while enjoying the natural scenery.
