China, Nigeria sign 13.1 bln dollar rail deal

China Railway Construction Corporation announced it has signed a framework contract for a 13.1-billion-dollar railway project in Nigeria.

The company signed the deal with Nigeria’s Federal Ministry of Transportation for a coastal railway line with a single track length of 1,385 kilometers. The design speed for the railway is 120 kilometres an hour. The two sides are still discussing details based on the released framework.
