A second half penalty from Mile Jedinak then gave Australia hope of an upset. But goals from Robin Van Persie and Memphis Depay sealed victory for the Netherlands.

One more match is scheduled for Wednesday. Cameroon will play Croatia to see if either team can challenge Brazil or Mexico for qualification from Group A.
