Hard work really does pay off ! After more than 30 years of making musical parodies "Weird Al" Yankovic may have his first no. 1 album. The 54-year-old musician-comedian released his 14th studio album "Mandatory Fun" on July 15th. Billboard predicts it may be his biggest seller, on track to top this week's Billboard 200 chart.

Unprecedented success.

Yankovic's last release, "Alpocalypse," debuted at No. 9 in 2011, selling about 44,000 copies in its first week, a far cry from his latest work.

This has been an amazing week. I can't even tell you. I have been doing roughly the same thing for many, many years and this is the best week of my life in terms of like response from people. It's just insane and it's extremely gratifying but it's just a little hard for me to wrap my head around," Weird Al Yankovic said.

Along with the album, Yankovic dropped eight music videos in eight days. The videos, which include "Handy," his take on Iggy Azalea's "Fancy," and "Foil," a parody of Lorde's "Royals," quickly went viral.

An early favorite among "grammar nerds" like Yankovic, is the "Blurred Lines" parody, "Word Crimes."

And I was playing around with puns on the title, variations and I came up with 'Word Crimes' and thought 'Oh a song about grammar.' That was so up my alley because I'm such a grammar nerd. In fact I've got some videos on YouTube, on my YouTube channel, where I'm driving around town correcting road signs and correcting signs in supermarkets that have bad grammar. So I'm sort of known for it anyway and it sort of cemented my reputation as a grammar nerd," Weird Al Yankovic said.

"Mandatory Fun" also features a parody of the Imagine Dragons' hit "Radioactive," as well as polka covers of chart-toppers like "Wrecking Ball," Thrift shop" and "Gangnam Style."

Al is planning to shift his focus on singles in the future, so this may be his last album.
