Marvel Studios' 'Guardians of the Galaxy' may not land in theatres until August 1st, but the company’s band of interstellar misfits touched down in Hollywood on Monday for the sci-fi comedy’s premiere.

Chris Pratt certainly looks the part of a Hollywood star for the world premiere of Marvel's next big thing, "Guardians of the Galaxy."

Pratt, who stars in the epic space adventure, joins co-stars Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper, Glenn Close and Vin Diesel for the screening that shuts down Hollywood Boulevard.

"I used to live 400 yards from here and they used to shut down Hollywood Blvd. and I would be like, 'Man, what's going on down there.' Now I know it's a a big ol' premiere. It's a night for us to celebrate all the hard word we did and we are having a lot of fun," Chris Pratt said.

Directed by James Gunn, "Guardians of the Galaxy" is expected to be among the summer's biggest hits. The adventure expands Marvel's Universe into the cosmos. Brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt, after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain.

"I really liked this guy's whole outlook on life, his angst and anger, how his empathetic heart wins out in the end. Then there was the process of finding his rhythm and his voice. There was a lot of takes on it, whether it was cockney with his english background, the seemed to imply that or do we land on more of a east coast American. Luckily for me, James made me feel very comfortable, if there is footage of all the different attempts, the one we landed on I am very happy with. But we will see and I hope people react kindly too it," actor Bradley Cooper said.

"This is not what I would have done for myself. I don't want the hero that knows how to do everything right from the get go. I like that these guys are thieves and assassins and prison escapees from jail and that they figure things out and try to give themselves a chance at being friends. I thought it was a beautiful message and it was unexpected. To work with James Gunn, he is an unconventional director and that is why he is right down my alley," actress Zoe Saldana said.

Marvel's brand already includes the global blockbuster franchises of Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers. It is the hope that "Guardians" will be added to that list.

"Yes, I am worried about the box office and I want the movie to do well. The main reason I want the movie to do well is that I want the opportunity to do another one. I love working with these people and I love working with Marvel. I want the chance to do this again and this has been a really fulfilling experience," director James Gunn said.

Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy" first appeared in comic books in 1969. The movie version hits U.S. theaters on August 1st.
