There is still no licensed medicine available to treat the deadly Ebola virus. The World Health Organization says several experimental drugs have showed promising results. It says it will work to fast-track the development of these potential treatments.

Officials at the WHO also say an Ebola vaccine developed by the British drug maker GlaxoSmithKline may enter clinical trials next month, and may be ready by 2015. American scientists have also developed an Ebola drug that they say was effective in tests on monkeys. Health experts say soap and hot water can be used to help ward off the disease.
