The World Health Organization says 113 new cases of Ebola and 84 deaths have been reported in Sierra Leone, Liberia, Guinea and Nigeria in just three days from August 14th to 16th.

WHO spokeswoman Fadela Chaib said at a news briefing that the total death toll in west Africa’s Ebola outbreak has risen to 1,129 and 2,240 people have contracted the deadly virus. In order to prevent the further spread of Ebola, Sierra Leone, Liberia, and Guinea are setting up isolation zones in the affected regions.

Chaib also reiterated that the WHO does not recommend any ban on international travel or trade. But said countries that have Ebola are able to take all the measures they see necessary to contain the outbreak in certain zones. Chaib also called for more help to contain the epidemic.

"WHO is really encouraging countries to scale up their response to the Ebola outbreak. So we are very demanding this kind of help, medical teams, equipment, financial resources. We have made a call for more than 100 million US dollars. It is finance that around the level of 70 percent. So we are demanding this kind of help," Chaib said.
