Full coverage: Malaysia Airlines Plane Bound for Beijing Goes Missing

It has been more than five months since the missing Malaysia Airlines plane vanished in March. Malaysia, Australia and China are still conducting searches to locate the passenger jet.

MH370 departed Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 12:41 a.m. on March 8th, with 239 people on board. Recordings of Malaysian military radar showed a large plane flying without a transponder heading to the opposite side of the Malayan peninsula. It was last sighted at 2:15 a.m. 320 kilometres off the country’s northwest coast.

It took a week for Malaysian authorities to confirm the plane was MH370. Then on March 24th, based on new analysis of that satellite data, Malaysian authorities say the flight ended in the Southern Indian Ocean. And two vessels are currently mapping an area covering 60 thousand square kilometers. Australian authorities warned the search could take a year to complete.
