Chinese men's national team continued its preparations for next year's Asian Cup, as they managed a one-all draw against visitors Jordan during a football friendly in Harbin, the capital city of Northeast China's Heilongjiang Province.
Gao Lin gets fouled by the Jordan goalkeeper deep in the box, and the Guangzhou Evergrande player puts the home side ahead 1-0, calmly sending the ball into the back of the net.
Jordan, now ranked fourth in Asia, gives China lots of pressure right from the beginning of the match, and dominates the first half hour. Eight minutes into the match, Jordan nearly breaks the deadlock, when Saeed Murjan's powerful shot from the edge of the penalty area just goes wide.
The Jordanians continue to pile on pressure against the Chinese side, but can't convert it into a goal, as the first half ends nil-nil.
In the 38th minute, China is awarded a penalty, after Gao Lin gets fouled by the Jordan goalkeeper deep in the box, and the Guangzhou Evergrande player puts the home side ahead 1-0, calmly sending the ball into the back of the net.
And the PRC comes close just before the half, this time when Gao sets up Wu Lei for a header, but it's saved by the keeper.
Jordan would finally level the score seven minutes before the end of the match, as Ahmed Hayel's header results in a final score of 1-1. The match follows China's 3-1 victory against Kuwait last week, and coach Alain Perrin hopes the two games will help the Chinese squad get ready for their Asian Cup opener against Saudi Arabia.
