S. Korea ready for opening ceremony of Incheon Asian Games

The 2014 Incheon Asian Games will officially kick off on September 19th. The most eye-catching event would be the opening ceremony, which will be held at Incheon Asiad Stadium.

The opening ceremony will be directed by renowned Im Kwon-Taek and Jang Jin, with overall theme of "Meet Asia's Future." The ceremony would start off with Soprano Jo Sumi singing the "Asiad Song". Boy with the hoop who represented the 19-88 Seoul Olympics will be shown to depict Asia's past, present and future. Korean traditional art will be shown along with performances by various Korean celebrities and singers.

And the Asian Games media village, which is located in Guwol-dong, Namdong-gu, is also ready for the journalists from all around Asia. 650 journalists have so far settled in the apartments. The media village contains nearly 1,300 apartments, and 2,840 journalists will be living here during the Games. Shuttle buses to all the main stadiums and competition areas, are in place for them.
