Zheng Junfeng is BizAsia's anchor and market editor. He co-hosts the show daily on weekdays at 4pm and 9pm Beijing time from CCTV's headquarters in Beijing. As one of the longest serving members of the business news team, Junfeng oversaw the bulletin since its inception, expanding the extent of coverage and lifting the quality of reporting.
He joined CCTV's English channel (then CCTV 9) in 2007 as a field reporter. He chased major events in China that affected the country's economic and social landscape. From the Beijing Olympics to the Wenchuan earthquake that same year, to the auto sector that surpassed into becoming the world's number one market. Junfeng traced China's booming property market, and closely followed the country's dramatic crash in stock markets from late 2007 to 2008. He won the channel's Best Business Reporting Award the next year in 2009.
Since the launch of CCTV News in April 2010 which replaced CCTV 9, Zheng Junfeng became the anchor of BizAsia, bringing daily updates and live crosses with correspondents from other financial hubs including Shanghai, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Singapore, New Delhi and London. He was also an occasional presenter on BizAsia's Sunday programme BizTalk, a high level one-on-one interview show with CEOs of Fortune 500 companies.
Junfeng began his TV career with CCTV's Chinese language news channel in 2005 as a writer and editor for its flagship 7pm news program "Xinwen Lianbo", China's most widely watched news bulletin with 135 million viewers.
Junfeng received a BA in Economics from the Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, where he received full scholarship for four years, and graduated second in his class. He earned an MA in Accounting and Finance from the University of Leeds. Junfeng held executive roles in finance, real estate and the movie industry before starting at CCTV in 2005.
