I am a Canadian, although I have spent less than half my life living in the country. I moved to England at a very young age and it was there that I discovered my love for sports. At that time it was football and snooker as I quickly became a supporter of Tottenham Hotspur and Steve Davis.
My family later returned to Canada and my passion for sports grew to include hockey, tennis, and golf while continuing to play football, now soccer. I began playing rugby and learning judo in my teens as my athletic tastes moved more towards contact sports.
After completing my studies at the University of Toronto, I moved to Taiwan in 2002 where I began teaching English and playing rugby with an expat team that traveled around Southeast Asia playing in tournaments.
In 2008 I moved to the Maldives where I got my start in radio on a tiny island in the Indian Ocean and when not on the air, I was in the water windsurfing and scuba diving with sharks and rays. After one year, I returned to Canada where I created and co-hosted a daily sports talk radio program for The Score on Sirius XM Satellite Radio.
I have now been living in Beijing for nearly four years and have been an anchor on CCTV’s Sports Scene since August of 2014. My passion for sports has only grown over the years and my job allows me to develop it even further while also meeting some of the athletes who have become my heroes. I still play tennis, squash, and football when I have the time and I’m a regular in the gym. Sports are such a valuable way to forget the daily stress of life, so join us on Sports Scene to stay in touch with the world of athletics and get out and be active in any way you can.
