Malaysian authorities have just declared doomed Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 an accident. The Director General of Malaysia’s Department of Civil Aviation, Azharuddin Abdul Rahman, said in a statement that all 239 people on board are presumed to be dead.

According to the statement, all evidence and data support MH370 ending its flight in the southern Indian Ocean. It’s believed that the aircraft exhausted its fuel there and is located on the sea bed close to the southern Indian Ocean.

The statement assures that the search will remain a priority, and the Malaysian government is committed to ensuring that the compensation process is fulfilled by Malaysia Airlines.

An interim statement detailing the safety investigation is expected to be released around the first anniversary of the accident. The Beijing-bound Airbus-A-320 disappeared last March after taking off from Kuala Lumpur.
