Full coverage: Malaysia Airlines Plane Bound for Beijing Goes Missing

Today marks the first anniversary of the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines MH370, with 239 people on board.

On March 8, 2014, the Beijing-bound aircraft vanished from radar screens shortly after taking off from Kuala Lumpur. Most of the passengers were from China.

Investigators believe the plane it was flown thousands of kilometers off course before eventually crashing into the Indian Ocean. It's one of the greatest mysteries in aviation, as no trace has been found of the aircraft's location.

At this morning's press conference during China's political season, Foreign Minister Wang Yi said the search for MH370 will not stop.

"On this day, a year ago, flight MH370 went missing. A year has passed. The plane has not yet been located, but the search efforts will continue," Wang said.

"Today must be a difficult day for the next of kin of those on board MH370. Our hearts are with you. Malaysia Airlines has started its compensation work. We will provide all needed services to every next of kin, and help them uphold their legitimate and lawful rights and interests."
