The chairman of the board of directors for the Boao Forum, Yasuo Fukuda, has told CCTV that he hopes stalled negotiations towards a trilateral free trade agreement between China, Japan and South Korea can be kick-started soon. Yasuo Fukuda, who's a former prime minister of Japan, says there's a strong need for more communication.

"There's a lack of atmosphere for negotiations between Japan and China, and also between Japan and South Korea. That's why the negotiations on a trilateral Free Trade Agreement have stalled. But from now on, I think we should strengthen negotiations on this, and I think it's time to push for greater communication," Fukuda said.
