Former French Prime Minister Jean-Pierre Raffarin says the new governance of G20 and its innovation project could greatly enhance global economic growth. Raffarin was speaking during an exclusive interview with China Central Television on the sidelines of the Boao Forum for Asia Financial Cooperation Conference in London. He stressed the importance of cooperation in promoting global growth, especially among the G20 members.
I think a country now can't get success without others. And we need to work together. So I think G20 must be stronger, and must improve the financial governance of the world. So I think that right now we are facing a crisis of wealth. We are slowing down in Asia. We have a very small growth in Europe. In United States, the growth is uncertain...So we have to discuss together how to push the growth. And I think that with a new governance, the governance in G20 can promote projects, big projects in innovation and a lot of things that can push the growth up. So the G20 must be stronger. And I hope the G20 in Hangzhou can drive a new politics," Raffarin said.
