The world's largest gold nugget has landed in Beijing along with a bird-shaped meteor. They are just a couple of the wonders at the 2015 China International Jewelry Fair, which began Saturday.

Nearly 2,000 exhibitors, from 23 countries and regions, are showcasing their sparkly gems at the China International Exhibition Center. Among the highlights are an enamel vase depicting peonies, azaleas, and irises in more than 200 colors.

"This vase is amazingly beautiful. It has so many colors, and what's more, it combines traditional Chinese craft with Western styles," said Yang Yanxi, a designer.

The largest gold nugget in the world, 99.9 percent pure and weighing 62 kilograms, is on display for the first time in China. Visitors to the 75,000-square-meter exhibition were also amazed by an eagle-shaped meteorite discovered in the Lop Nor Desert of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

The fair is considered China’s leading jewelry event in terms of scale and influence.
