Chinese President Xi Jinping have also met with chairwoman of Africa Union, Dlamini Zuma, in Pretoria.

Xi said that China attaches great importance to developing relations with the African Union, or AU, and the two sides should increase political mutual trust, perfect the dialogue mechanism, and to build strategic partnership. He stressed China fully supports AU to crack infrastructure lag and lack of talent in the region, and will strengthen the cooperation in disease control and cultural exchanges.

Zuma thanked China for its long term help to Africa, especially the valuable assistance China offered to fight against Ebola outbreak in African countries. She added AU was willing to strengthen the close cooperation with China.
