On Dec. 17, a forum on "Cultural Inheritance and Innovation in our internet Times" was held at the 2nd annual World Internet Conference (WIC) in Wuzhen Town, east China. A day earlier, Chinese President Xi Jinping spoke at the opening ceremony and proposed to build a community of common future in cyberspace.

WIC promotes a platform for cyber cultural communications with mutual reference. Xi believes communications and civilizations can be enriched with the internet as an essential vehicle to advocate positive energy.

Beijing favors a bridge of international communications via the internet, propelling excellent culture to help people from all countries connect with each other.

China hopes to utilize the internet platform to inform the world of Chinese culture and for the Chinese people to learn the culture of other nations in an effort to gain further prosperity and development that benefit civilization's progress.

Xi's speech endorses cultural inheritance and sparking innovations in our internet times.

More than 20 experts and scholars, business leaders and government representatives in the internet field have discussed how to make full use of the internet for cultural dissemination.

Each nation faces different conditions. Yet, the world is shaped into a shared community of destiny by merging all kinds of cultural communications together.

The internet has broken the limits of time and space, shaping a brand new cultural landscape, and ushering in unprecedented opportunities for cultural inheritance and growth to become stronger than ever.

We should build the consciousness of a community of human destiny, holding the values of "keeping each other's beauty, polishing each other’s beauty and achieving beauty together", and to insist on multi-elements, equality and tolerance.

Cyberspace makes mutual connections more convenient to relate to different cultures. Beijing is also expanding its cyber powers.

In the spirit of harmony and diversity, cyberspace can promote reasonable elements of foreign culture into the soil of local cultures and merge them with traditions to enrich local culture that can enhance a nation.

In our internet times, we can promote mutual cultural learning and references to expand on mutual understandings and close cooperation for the betterment of harmony and comforts.
