A seminar on Chinese President Xi Jinping's book, The Governance of China, was held at the 24th International Book Fair in New Delhi, India on Jan.10. The Governance of China includes 18 special topics, consisting of his 79 speeches, statements, questions and answers, written instructions, congratulatory letters and more.

His book has been promoted at many international book exhibitions and received an enthusiastic response.

The book is on sale in more than 100 countries and regions with 5 million in print, setting a release record for the Chinese leadership's books at home and abroad.  Why are foreign readers interested in his views? The book helps overseas readers better understand China.

One can know a country by visiting in person, investigating its history and culture or analyzing statistics. But the most direct and convenient way is to read the national leader's thoughts and speeches. The Governance of China expounds on Xi's concepts for governing a state and his ideas to promote social development.

Even though it is Xi's speech with his personal style, it is also a compilation of Chinese mass wisdom and the Chinese Communist Party, containing the secrets of the "China's  miracle" that serve as an important window for the international community.

The book is related with his thoughts and charm as a leader.

Some of the international media, consider Xi charming, due to his personality, calmness, confidence, amiability and peaceful nature. His visits overseas were hailed as Xi's "wind". Xi's "Chinese Dream" had won over a wide domestic consensus with many compliments coming from abroad.

His strategies, including the "Belt and Road" initiative, can help defend world peace and promote the development of each country.

The Governance of China demonstrates Xi's perspective and deep philosophy, introduces reform deepening of China that can usher in more prosperity for the nation to realize the "Chinese Dream."

China's "big diplomacy" strategy contributes to the popularity of Xi Jinping's book.

Since the 18th CPC National Congress in Nov. 2012, Xi had visited more than 30 countries, including those in Asia, Africa, Europe, North and South America and Oceania. He published articles in more than 10 national major mainstream media outlets.

With the theme of peace, development, cooperation, friendliness and mutual benefits, the articles have expounded on Chinese stories that spread Chinese wisdom.

With rich content and clear signals from his articles, it has eliminated some confusion, as well as laying a solid foundation for foreigners to know more about Chinese development ideas and values appeal.

The Governance of China deepens our understanding of China and appeals to the reading demand of foreigners.  The highly-acclaimed overseas sales of The Governance of China have captured the ideas, expectations and dreams of the Chinese people.
