UNDP int'l campaign underway to name twin pandas

01-18-2016 15:26 BJT

Twin giant pandas born last September in Chengdu have been appointed as Animal Ambassadors to the UN Development Program.

And an international campaign is now underway to name the two. The event will run until April. At the same time, the UNDP will also recruit 17 people from around the world to visit Chengdu in Southwest China's Sichuan Province. Chengdu is the home of the research base for giant panda breeding. The 17 people will participate in an event to understand more about the environment where pandas live. A global art show has also kicked off, and the show will be shown in Japan, South Korea and many other countries.
