Survival skills training for panda cubs

Three panda cubs born last year are being trained for survival in the wild in Sichuan province. They are being put through a two-stage process, one in a semi-wild area and the other in a completely natural environment. And their moms will be their only teachers, imparting essential survival skills.

Researchers will monitor the mothers and cubs and give physical checkups, all the while blending in in black-and-white outfits. The training is aimed at enlarging the wild giant panda population which was only above 1,800 last year.
